For many months now, my car's turn signal has, if you will, been on the blink. It makes the clicking noise at random intervals while you're driving - weird, and has the potential to drive you insane, but not enough of a problem to get fixed. Until this morning.
On my way to the job interview, I noticed that now, when I actually turned on the turn signal, it lit up solid instead of blinking. The second time I tried to use the turn signal, the same thing happened, except now a little stream of smoke was flowing out of the steering column. Smoking car = Kristy freakout. I turned into the nearing parking lot, shut off the car, called the husband... he traded cars with me so that he could get mine fixed while I went to the interview. What a guy.
So I was only a few minutes late and a tiny bit flustered. Sigh. I did go ahead and type in Dvorak, which I think they forgave me for when they clocked me at 78 words a minute. The HR lady who gave the interview was very friendly, which I never know how to interpret - is she just friendly, or does she actually like me? She said that after she conducts all the interviews, she passes along a handful of candidates to the department head, who will then conduct his own interviews, but that won't happen until next month. She spent quite a bit of time explaining the benefits package, which I interpret as a positive sign. (The benefits package, btw, is amazing.) So... I think I would like this job, so I hope they call me back!
